About ClassRows
ClassRows is a free seating chart maker for teachers that runs in your browser, with no signup.
Why it exists
ClassRows is made by an independent developer, and it started with a complaint from a friend who teaches. Every few weeks Megan rebuilt her seating charts by hand, period by period, trying to remember which students couldn't sit together and who needed to be up front. The free tools she found either looked like wedding planners, asked her to sign up before she could print, or locked basic things like moving a student behind a paywall. "It's a grid of desks," she said. "Why is this so hard?"
So I built her one. Paste the class list, set a few rules, shuffle, print. She used it the next morning. That's ClassRows.
I still build it myself, and I read every email. If something gets in your way, write to [email protected]. There's a good chance your fix ends up in the next update.
What we believe
- The tools teachers need every week should be free. Making, shuffling, and printing a seating chart will always be free, with no trial and no watermark. ClassRows Pro only adds extras you can do without, like sync across computers and rotation memory.
- No ads, ever. A classroom tool shouldn't sell your attention.
- Student data belongs with the teacher. Your class lists stay on your device unless you turn on sync. Read how we handle student data.
- Built with teachers. Every feature starts with a real classroom problem.
Help shape ClassRows
We're looking for teachers to try new features early and tell us what works and what doesn't. If you'd like to help, email [email protected] with the grade and subjects you teach.
